Speaking clubs - Yaroslava’s Russian Language School

For intermediate and Advanced (B1-B2 and B2+C1)

The speaking club was crated with 3 ideas in mind:

To learn modern vocabulary in context and acquaire it

To read more non-adapted texts in Russian (and be able to learn from it)

To use this new knowledge instantly while discussing interesting topics

For the whole month we dive into one topic: neuroscience, history, self-improvement, society, art, и так далее.

How it works

The schedule and example of one month.

Week one

Meeting in a telegram chat with a group

Reading one article in Russian with a vocabulary list

A small part from the article. Interesting words are highlighted in green

And a small part of the vocabulary. With an explanation in Russian, link to my favorite online dictionary with forms, and examples.

1h Google meet session with activities to recall the words and use them.

Week two

Enjoing the words we have learned in another context (from memes, articles, Twitter)

Sharing audio/video messages where we are talking about the topic, sharing our opinion (with my feedback)

1h Google meet session where we are sharing our opinions, debating, and improving spontaneous speech (of couse using our target vocabulary)

Week three + week four

New article that expands the previous one with the previous schedule. All the speaking sessions will include activities to recall the vocabulary from week 1 and 2 also.

Week five

If we are lucky, and the month has 5 weeks, we will have an extra speaking session with a native Russian guest, the expert in the topic, to practice what we have learned in a very native way.

Price: 60 eur for a month (4-5 speaking sessions, all materials included)
